The Ardmore Foundation is a private non-profit foundation founded in 1991. The mission of the Ardmore Foundation is to provide quality of life enhancements to individuals of all ages with disabilities to promote their ability to live independently with dignity and self-esteem in the community.

It is closely associated with Ardmore, Inc. and provides support services to Ardmore and the clients they serve with developmental disabilities in Summit County, Ohio.

THE ARDMORE FOUNDATION supports the Frontier Initiative, a coalition of residential providers dedicated to meeting the challenge of specialized services for adults with autism. It also supports the Lest We Forget remembrance project initiated by Crest Network.

Types of needs funded by the Foundation:

Emergency housing, rent and utilities.

Furniture, household items, and small appliances.

Medical equipment (limited by Medicaid) such as orthopedic shoes and lifts, Juzzo hose.

There are times when our clients break or lose eyeglasses and hearing aids that cannot be replaced by Medicaid.

Clothing – in particular special order sizes, winter coats and boots.

$75 for each client at Christmas provided by annual Reverse Raffle proceeds.

In 2008 clients will also receive a $20 dinner gift certificate for their birthday provided by

raffle proceeds.

Recreation and entertainment.

The Ardmore Agency has received funding for computer equipment, the annual Employee Award Luncheon, and other special requests.

The Foundation supports the Lest We Forget initiative partnering with Crest Network.

Other select organizations that have received funding are the ARC of Summit and Portage County, Crest Network, and CSBMR/DD Levy Campaigns.

The Ardmore Foundation supports

the development of the Autism Project and The Frontier Initiative.

The Ardmore Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals or requests for funds.

Since the Ardmore Foundation Board began making donations three times per year in 1995, the Foundation has donated $315,600 to clients and other requests that support the quality of life for Ardmore Agency clients. The amount of funds allocated is 25% of the available cash flow obtained from property revenues after expenses.

In addition to the tri-annual distributions, they have raised and distributed over $106,000 from Reverse Raffle/Races proceeds. The new UnBirthday Campaign has raised $11,605 for clothing.

The Foundation receives its revenue from its property rentals, grants, business, corporate and individual donations and fundraising events.
